The office of State Representative Ana-Maria Ramos is seeking two outgoing individuals that are eager to join our team. The ideal candidates will support the Representative and Staff in matters of constituent services, communications, and maintaining an open and engaged office for constituents and stakeholders. This internship will last through the end of May. The ideal candidates can expect to work remotely as well as in-office when needed, working a minimum of 15 hours per week. There will be an opening in Austin and one in Dallas. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: x Identify and interpret potential social media trends to current legislative issues. x Plan, manage, and coordinate all social media programs and initiatives through a monthly social media calendar. x Achieve targeted results and ensure timely and effective execution of social media tactics & programs. x Develop benchmark criteria to measure effectiveness of social media programs, and implement changes as needed. x Respond & maintain a current status on all constituent engagement across social media platforms. x Maintains a good working relationship with the Representative, Staff, and constituents; x Performs other duties as assigned. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: x Ability to perform the essential job functions above; x Verified Account Social media proficiency - YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. x Strong oral and written communication skills; x Thoroughness and careful attention to detail; x Temperament to communicate with a variety of personalities in a tactful, pleasant, and professional manner and work cooperatively and courteously with others; x Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in fulfillment of responsibilities; x Proficiency in office computer applications and word processing; and x Be fluent in Spanish (preferred).
Ideal candidates are undergraduate or graduate students who are highly motivated and eager to learn and grow while giving back to the community. Strong communication skills, the ability to work as part of a team, and a strong work ethic are required. An interest in politics and the state legislative process or policy areas is strongly recommended.
