Communications Internship

State Representative Ana-Maria Ramos is seeking a motivated individual for a part-time internship for the Summer and Fall 2019. Applicants should be interested in gaining valuable first hand experience to assist with the day-to-day operations of a legislative office. Applicant will be expected to greet constituents and interest groups, as well as assist with administrative and constituent work. Internship will be located in the Austin office. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Manage incoming calls; • Preform general typing and administrative assignments, as needed; • Manage constituent casework, maintaining up-to-date files on all cases; • Assist with constituent correspondence; • Research legislation and policy areas; • Ability to work under tight deadlines; and • Other duties assigned by the Chief of Staff. Applicants should have well developed organizational and interpersonal skills, solid computer and writing skills, and effective communication skills.
