Policy Intern

Texans for Greg Abbott, the re-election campaign for Governor Greg Abbott, is looking for policy interns to support the policy director. The policy department is responsible for researching policy and laws that have been enacted. The policy department works closely with the political, finance, and communication departments to provide pertinent information regarding the Governor’s policy accomplishments and provide background on other pieces of legislation that passed during the most recent legislative session. The policy intern’s primary responsibility will be to monitor incoming correspondence Texans for Greg Abbott receives and identify any policy questions or concerns. The policy intern will also help the policy director conduct research and provide background on various policy areas, along with other duties as assigned. Knowledge of the Texas legislative process, strong writing skills, attention to detail, an interest in politics, and political campaigns are preferred. This position will be in person and the intern will report to the Downtown Austin office near the State Capitol, not far from UT’s campus.
