Fall Campaign Intern

Angel Carroll for State Representative HD 52 & Jewel Political Consulting are looking for interns to help with fundraising and finance support for a historic and grassroots Democratic campaign. Jewel Political Consulting offers fundraising and finance support for Democratic candidates and organizations in Texas. We are based out of Austin but are working this cycle with clients across the state. Jewel Political Consulting was founded by Hattie Miller (BC ‘19) who has experience with Texas candidates at the local, state, and federal level. Responsibilities and Learning Opportunities As an intern, you will help our various clients with the following: 1. Prepare weekly call sheets, prospect new donors, and take notes during call time 2. Support consultant in donor follow-up, pledge chasing, and acknowledgment correspondence for call time targets 3. Manage call time and assist with event execution 4. Oversee relevant databases ensuring accurate and timely records of all contacts 5. Other responsibilities depending on the needs of the campaign Through this role, interns will gain a general knowledge of the functions of a consulting firm, work directly with political campaigns to gain an understanding of campaign finance operations and make connections with elected officials and community leaders. Requirements The ideal candidate will have the following competencies and skills: 1. Strong interpersonal skills, experience meeting deadlines, and the ability to multitask 2. Enjoys contributing to a supportive, fast-paced office 3. Ability to work 15 hours a week remotely 4. Attention to detail and good organizational skills 5. Familiarity with research tools *Prior campaign experience is appreciated though not required.
