Job Description: 
McWilliams Strategies is a governmental affairs firm focused on client-driven outcomes in the legislative and executive branches of Texas government. Led by President & CEO, Dean McWilliams, the team has more than a half century of state experience combined. The ideal candidate will be a motivated individual who is professional in demeanor as well as eager for the opportunity to work hard, learn much, and experience the fast-paced nature of the biennial Texas Legislature. Our team encourages thoughtfulness and asking questions, excitement about the policymaking process, and will attempt to give interns projects on policy areas of particular interest when possible. Day-to-day responsibilities will vary but should include corresponding with legislative and executive offices; conducting bill analyses of pending legislation; communicating with clients on a variety of technical and complex matters; attending and taking notes at committee hearings and stakeholder meetings; making deliveries to the Capitol; other duties as assigned. Previous legislative experience is preferred but not required. This internship may be used for class credit. This will be a paid opportunity. Only those available on both Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8am-5pm should apply. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate any other schedules at this time.

Interested applicants MUST be willing to work from 8am-5pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays to be considered. There are no available internships for any other days/times. Only apply if you're able to work for the full day on both Tuesday and Thursday of each week, beginning Tuesday, January 10, 2023. The internship will conclude on Tuesday, May 30, 2023.
