Job Description: 
Interns will support the Representative and Staff in matters of legislation, research, and maintaining an open and engaged office for constituents and stakeholders. The internship lasts for the duration of Spring 2024, with a desired start date in January 2024 and end date in May 2024. This position offers a minimum salary of $1,000 a month with the expectation of 15-20 hours of work per week. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: o Assist with research, briefings, memos, and otherwise in developing policy; preparing for hearings or committee meetings; and in advance of meetings with constituents and visitors; o Complete office tasks such as data entry, logging incoming and outgoing correspondence, handling visitors, telephone calls, and other clerical duties; o Maintain a good working relationship with the Representative, Staff, and constituents; and o Perform other duties as assigned.

Ideal applicants are undergraduate or graduate students who are highly motivated and eager to learn and grow while giving back to the community. Strong communication skills, the ability to work as part of a team, and a strong work ethic are required. An interest in politics and the state legislative process or policy areas is strongly recommended.
