JHL interns play an important role in supporting client teams and on internal projects. Interns will have the opportunity to work on a variety of accounts learning the basics of public affairs and strategic communications. Specifically, this position will have an emphasis on legislative communications. This role would support in creating copy and content, engaging with audiences daily, creating newsletters, and assisting in client social media management. Specific tasks include assisting with research and outreach, sitting in on client meetings and events as necessary, and assisting the public affairs team with all communications outreach and social media projects. JHL is seeking someone with strong written and verbal skills. Additionally, organizational skills, an acute attention to detail, and proper phone/email/communications etiquette are imperative. Experience with Microsoft Office applications, Canva, and Mailchimp is preferred.
