Job Description: 
The Office of Texas State Representative Ana-María Ramos (House District 102) is seeking a highly organized, professional, and responsive Communications Intern for the Spring semester. This position involves assisting the District and Communications Director with maintaining Representative Ramos’ media presence. Applicants should be knowledgeable in the legislative process, Texas politics, and bills directly authored by Representative Ramos. Applicants must be available to work part-time (15 hours a week). ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: - Analyze bill text, amendments, state code, current law, and witness testimony and translate information to graphics; - Conduct research relating to HD 102 and legislation; - Maintain a strong media presence; - Assist with the design and creation of original digital content; - Maintain websites by regularly updating with resources; - Attend and assist in planning events in Austin, HD 102, and online when requested; - Review and edit documents; - Conduct interviews with constituents, activists, and elected officials; - Assist in drafting press releases, talking points, and newsletters; - Keep up-to-date on Texas politics and current events in the legislature.
